In June, 2007, New Hartford Community Connections, Inc. was able to distribute over $11,000 to area non-profit organizations, out of funds raised by ad sales for the 2006–2007 directory. Here’s where the money went:

• Bakerville Library – For a new server.

In May, 2006, New Hartford Community Connections, Inc. distributed over $8,000 to area non-profit organizations. Ad sales for the first edition of the New Hartford Telephone Directory exceeded expectations, a testament to both the hard work of the directory committee, and the participation of many area businesses and merchants.

Here’s where the money went:

• Bakerville Library – To acquire software for listing the library collection online. The software should be installed in early February; check http://www.bakervillelibrary.org.
  
  

• Eureka Grange #62 – To help replace old hand-dug well.

• New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance – To replace older external defibrillators.

• New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary (West Hill) – To supply shelters.

• New Hartford Land Trust – To contribute to the purchase of Jones Mountain for Open Space.

• Town of New Hartford – Toward a portable sound system available to any approved nonprofit town group. That system is up and running now. Groups interested in signing it out should contact Christine Hayward at Town Hall, 379-3389.

• New Hartford Senior Center – For storage cabinets and a bookcase.

• Pine Meadow Cemetery – To aid in removing a degenerating tree overhanging markers of historical value.

• Project Graduation – To help provide a safe alcohol- and substance-free graduation celebration.

• Winchester Youth Service Bureau – Summer Fun Club Kids — Therapeutic Recreation/Camp Program fees for two New Hartford children.
